What is a Gledopto LED controller?

A Gledopto controller is a Zigbee 3.0 LED controller that connects your LED strip lights to smart home ecosystems. It receives wireless commands from a Zigbee hub (like Philips Hue Bridge, SmartThings, or Zigbee2MQTT) and converts them into PWM signals that control strip brightness, colour temperature, or RGB colour output.

Which Gledopto controller do you need for your strip type?

Match the controller to your strip channel type: single-channel for single colour dimming, dual-channel for CCT tunable white, 3-channel for RGB, and 4-channel for RGBW. The controller voltage must also match your strip voltage exactly — 12V, 24V, or 48V.

Do Gledopto controllers work with Philips Hue?

Yes. Gledopto Zigbee 3.0 controllers pair directly with the Philips Hue Bridge and appear as standard Hue lights in the Hue app. You can control brightness, colour, and scenes alongside your existing Hue bulbs. Group them into rooms and use Hue automations.

What driver do you need with a Gledopto controller?

Use a non-dimmable constant voltage driver matched to your strip voltage. The Gledopto controller handles all dimming and colour control via PWM — do not use a dimmable driver as it will conflict with the controller and cause flicker.

  • Do I need a Zigbee hub?
    • Yes. Gledopto controllers require a Zigbee hub such as Philips Hue Bridge, SmartThings, or a Zigbee USB coordinator running Zigbee2MQTT or Home Assistant ZHA.
  • Can I use Alexa or Google Home?
    • Yes, through the Zigbee hub. Link your hub (e.g. Hue Bridge) to Alexa or Google Home, then control your LED strips by voice.
  • What is the maximum strip length per controller?
    • Check the controller amperage rating and your strip current draw. Most Gledopto controllers handle 6-10A per channel. Multiply amps by voltage for max wattage.
  • Can I use Gledopto with RGBW COB strip?
    • Yes — use the 4-channel RGBW model with a non-dimmable constant voltage driver. The controller manages all four channels independently.
  • Do Gledopto controllers work with 48V strip?

The lighting is very good and looks the part in my sons bedroom, what i would say is that they clips provided are poor and dont hold the lighting in place. I purchased some 3m double sided tape and this was much better and maintained the lighting in a straight line.

These do work, and are easy to install. The clips came with round head screws - don't use them, they must be countersunk. I've docked one star, as if you need a run of these, as I do, there's no way to join them and the cable only goes in at the ends - lucky I have a vertical mill and can cut into the rear midway..!
