The brief

The owner wanted a continuous line of architectural light at two heights — flush into the ground at the perimeter, and along the eaves at the roofline. Visible only as light, never as a fitting. It had to read as one uninterrupted line, handle UK weather, and last a decade with no maintenance.

The solution — 48V at 10×20mm

We specified our 10×20mm IP68 4000K Natural White at 48V. Three reasons drove the choice:

48V over 24V — runs 50m continuously from one end with no voltage drop. That single-end capability is what lets the line track unbroken across 130m with minimal feed points and zero visible joins.
10×20mm body — 20mm depth sits flush in a ground profile; 10mm width tucks neatly under the soffit.
IP68, not IP67 — rated for continuous submersion. Standing water at the ground line won't perish it.

The result

One continuous line of natural white at the ground, mirrored cleanly at the eaves. From a few metres back the fitting disappears — the property reads as a structure outlined in light. Single feed, zero visible joins, four-year warranty.
