Outdoor LED lighting
One 48V feed drives up to 40 metres of single-colour light. IP67 and IP68, cut to your lengths.
Trade knowledge
Four things to get right before you order.
Which waterproof rating do you need?
IP67 for anything outdoors — rain, ground-level mounting around decking and patios, short periods underwater. Step up to IP68 only where the light sits permanently in water, like a pond or fountain.
How long can one run be?
One feed drives 20 metres at 24V, or 40 metres at 48V on single colour, with no visible drop in brightness end to end. Longer runs mean fewer drivers, cable routes and enclosures to bury.
Can you custom cut to length?
Yes. Every run is made to measure — custom cut at the marked intervals to the exact lengths on your plan, in extra-long single pieces where you need them. It arrives ready to fit, with no joins mid-run.
Can it bend around corners?
Yes. Horizontal-bend flex turns corners flat, in the same plane it sits in, so one piece follows a whole deck or patio edge. Check the bend direction before ordering — horizontal-bend will not rise over a step, and vertical-bend will not turn a flat corner.

FAQ
Questions before you order
Can you custom cut to length?
Yes. Every run is made to measure, cut to the exact lengths on your plan and dispatched against your fit date from UK stock.
Where are the cut points, and how short can a piece be?
Cut points vary by product, voltage and model. Across the range they run from every 1cm up to every 20cm, with 2.5cm and 5cm the most common. The interval is printed on each product page, and the shortest usable piece is one full cut segment.
What is the maximum run from one power feed?
On single colour, one feed drives 20 metres at 24V or 40 metres at 48V with no visible drop in brightness end to end. Longer schemes are split into separate feeds wired in parallel from the driver.
How many metres can I run from one power supply?
It depends on the wattage per metre, not the length alone. Size the supply to total load plus 20% headroom. As a worked example on a 14W/m product: 100W to 5 metres, 200W to 10 metres, 300W to 15 metres, 400W to 20 metres.
What is the wattage per metre?
It varies by product, typically between 9W and 14W per metre for outdoor neon flex. The exact figure is on every product page, and it is the number to size your driver from.
Do I need IP67 or IP68?
IP67 for anything outdoors: rain, ground-level mounting around decking and patios, and short periods underwater. IP68 where the run sits permanently in water, such as a pond, fountain or rill.
What is the minimum bend radius?
It varies by profile. Across the range the minimum is 15mm, 30mm or 60mm depending on the product and the bend direction. The figure is stated on each product page.
Does it bend horizontally, vertically, or both?
Each product bends in one plane only. We stock both horizontal-bend (side bend) and vertical-bend (top bend) versions, so the product is chosen to suit the direction your run needs to turn.
Which product suits tight curves?
The smaller profiles with a 15mm minimum bend radius take the tightest curves. Send us the plan with the radius you need and we will confirm the right profile before you order.
Which product do I need for side-emitting light?
A horizontal-bend (side bend) neon flex emits from the face of the profile, which suits runs seen from the side such as fascias, risers and wall lines.
Which product do I need for upward-facing light?
A vertical-bend (top bend) neon flex emits from the top of the profile, which suits recessed ground runs, paving joints and steps where the light faces up.
Is the product dimmable, and with which dimmers?
Single colour runs dim from a TRIAC-dimmable driver on a trailing-edge wall dimmer. RGB and RGBW need a non-dimmable constant-voltage driver with a dedicated controller doing the dimming; a dimmable driver on RGB causes flicker and early failure.
Is RGB, RGBW or tunable white available?
Yes, including addressable digital pixel RGB. Colour-change runs need a matched controller, and we confirm the driver and controller pairing with you before you order.
Will it work with my existing transformer or controller?
Often yes, provided the voltage matches and the driver has the capacity with 20% headroom. Send us the make and model of what you already have and our technical team will confirm compatibility before you buy.
What certifications does it carry?
UKCA, CE and RoHS, with ETL on some ranges. Installation should be carried out by a technically competent person in accordance with BS 7671 and local regulations.
What is the expected lifespan?
50,000 hours.
Is the silicone UV-stable?
Yes. The outdoor range uses UV-stable silicone that is also flame-retardant and saltwater-resistant, so it will not crack or fade in prolonged sun.
What temperature range does it operate in?
Between -20°C and 60°C, and down to -30°C on some ranges, so it handles UK freeze and thaw cycles.
What are the mounting options?
We recommend an aluminium channel or profile. As well as protecting the run it acts as a heat sink, which reduces heat build-up and extends the life of the product. Surface clips are available on some profiles.
What warranty applies?
Outdoor neon flex carries 3 or 4 years depending on the range, and the figure is stated on each product page. COB strip carries 5 years, and the premium single-colour COB range up to 7. All warranties assume installation in profile or channel with a correctly sized driver.
Can you check my plan before I order?
Yes. Email your plan to sales@atomled.co.uk and it comes back marked up with lengths, drivers and connectors within 48 hours, Monday to Friday.
Is delivery free?
Free UK delivery applies on 97% of products. The exceptions are a small number of long rigid profiles that ship on a courier service.
Can it be buried directly in the ground?
Ask us before you specify a buried run. Burial depends on the exact product and the ground conditions, so our technical team will confirm what is suitable for your site rather than give a blanket answer.
How are cut ends and joints sealed outdoors?
With the matched end caps and connectors for that profile. Because we cut to your lengths before dispatch, most runs arrive already terminated and need no site-made joints at all. Ask us for the sealing kit that matches your product.
What cable should I run back to the driver?
It depends on the load and the distance. Send us the run length and the total wattage and our technical team will specify the cable for that circuit.
If one section fails, does the whole run need replacing?
Tell us what has happened and we will work it out with you. Whether a section can be replaced on its own depends on the product and where the fault sits in the run, so it is a conversation with our technical team rather than a fixed rule.
