Description

Black anodised aluminium corner profile, 19x19mm, in a 2-metre length with an opal diffuser, end caps, mounting clips and screws in the box. It bridges a 90-degree corner and takes LED strip up to 12mm wide. Against dark joinery the black body reads as a shadow line until the strip switches on; then the opal cover softens the LEDs into one even run of light with no visible fitting.

  • Size: 19 x 19mm corner section, 2 metres long.
  • Strip capacity: accepts LED tape up to 12mm wide.
  • Build: anodised aluminium body, black finish, opal diffuser.
  • IP rating: IP20 — an open channel for dry indoor rooms only.
  • In the box: diffuser, end caps, mounting clips and screws.
  • Guarantee: 7 years.

Where does a black corner profile work best?

Media walls, slatted panelling, charcoal kitchens, walnut wardrobes, smoked-glass shelving. A silver channel on a black panel drags the eye; this one disappears into the joinery. On slatted panels we run it along the top edge so the light rakes down the battens, invisible from standing height.

Why buy the 2-metre length?

Joins. On a 4-metre run, 2-metre lengths give you one join where 1-metre lengths give you three, and every join risks a visible break in the light line. If your run is not an exact multiple, the aluminium cuts cleanly with a fine-tooth blade — but cut the diffuser separately. Sawing the cover while it is clipped into the channel is how diffusers crack; we learned that the hard way.

The channel matters for lifespan too. Aluminium conducts heat at roughly 200 W/m·K against 0.19 for plasterboard — about a thousand times better. Heat ages LED chips, so tape in this profile runs cooler and keeps its brightness and colour for longer.

One honest caveat: an open IP20 channel waterproofs nothing inside it. If you are lighting a bathroom wet zone, a pergola or anywhere water reaches, this is not your profile — choose a sealed IP67 fitting instead.

Questions buyers ask about corner profiles

Will the aluminium body make the strip last longer?

  • Yes on warm, hard-working runs — the channel pulls heat off the chips far faster than plasterboard, and heat is what shortens LED life.

Do you screw or clip a black corner profile on?

  • Screw the supplied clips to the surface and snap the profile in — no adhesive to fail in summer heat, and it unclips for servicing.

How does a 2 metre profile ship, and what does it cost?

  • Parcelforce 48 as a long parcel: £15.85 under £90, free at £90+; no next-day or Saturday on 2-metre lengths.

Prefer the bare-metal look? The same channel comes as a silver 19x19mm 2-metre profile. Short run? Take the 1-metre black version. For tape up to 10mm the black 16x16mm 2-metre corner profile is the slimmer pick, and the full range lives in LED strip profiles.

Not sure your strip and connectors clear the 12mm channel? Call the ATOM LED technical team in Telford on 01952 370028, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm — the people answering fit these profiles themselves.

Shipping

Free UK delivery on 97% of products is sent via Royal Mail 48-hour tracked.

2-metre profile delivery: a 2-metre length is too long for our standard courier, so it ships on its own Parcelforce 48 service — £15.85 under £90, free on orders of £90 or more (1–2 working days). Next day, timed and Saturday services are not available on 2-metre lengths.

If your order mixes a 2-metre profile with other items, the 2-metre rate applies to the whole order and everything is despatched together.

Orders placed before 1pm UK dispatch the same working day from Telford. Friday 1pm is the cut-off for Monday delivery, excluding paid Saturday Delivery and bank holidays.

Saturday Delivery is available as a paid option at checkout.

Large orders and pallet shipments: call 01952 370028 for a quote.

International Shipping

Northern Ireland shipping is charged at manual rates depending on shipment weight. International shipping uses manual zone rates at checkout.

Returns & Refunds

The 30-day return window applies to non-customised stock items returned in their original, unopened, uncut condition with original packaging. Eligible items include:

  • Standard LED strip lights supplied as 5-metre rolls
  • Straight aluminium profiles
  • Power supplies and drivers
  • Accessories (connectors, controllers, dimmers, end caps)

Custom-cut and bespoke orders (made-to-measure strip, custom-spec drivers, custom-length profiles, special-order items) are non-returnable unless faulty.

Faulty products qualify for free returns — we cover the return postage and either replace the item or refund the full cost including original delivery.

Refunds are processed within 5–10 working days of receiving the returned item.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between IP65, IP67, and IP68?

IP65 handles surface splashes only and is not suitable for UK outdoor conditions or bathroom wet zones under BS7671. IP67 is rated for temporary immersion and covers outdoor garden installations, most bathroom zones, and exposed architectural features. IP68 handles continuous submersion for ponds, fountains, and fully exposed outdoor applications. For most UK garden and decking projects, IP67 is the correct choice.

Can I cut this product to a custom length?

Yes. ATOM LED products can be cut at the marked cut points without voiding the warranty. Many competitors restrict cuts to 50–100mm intervals, which wastes offcuts on tight custom runs. Use sharp scissors or a craft knife for a clean cut, then seal the end with a suitable end cap.

What size driver do I need?

Multiply the total metres by the wattage per metre, then add 20% headroom. For example: 10 metres of 24V neon flex at 9W/m = 90W total, so you need a minimum 108W driver. Never load a driver above 80% capacity for long-term reliability.

Should I choose 12V, 24V, or 48V?

Choose 12V for caravans, cars, boats, and any project powered by a 12V battery. Choose 24V for most home and trade installs where you need dependable run length with lower voltage drop. Choose 48V for longer architectural runs where extra distance and single-feed flexibility matter. For underwater or submerged installs, use IP68 Waterproof lights and the correct driver for that product; do not use 48V underwater.

What is your warranty?

ATOM LED offers product-specific warranties: up to 7 years on single-colour COB strip, 5 years on RGB and RGBW COB strip, and 4 years on LED neon flex. The warranty covers manufacturing defects. Call 01952 370028 for warranty claims.

Do you offer free delivery?

Yes, on orders of £90 or more. A 2-metre profile is too long for our standard courier, so it ships on its own Parcelforce 48 service: £15.85 under £90, free at £90 and above (1–2 working days). Next day and timed services are not available on 2-metre lengths.
