Black anodised aluminium surface profile, 11.9 x 10mm, supplied in a 2.45-metre length with a black push-in diffuser, two end caps, spring-steel clips and double-sided mounting tape. It screws flat to any surface and takes LED strip up to 10mm wide. The near-square section stays straight across a long span, and the black cover on a black body reads as a shadow gap unlit.

Where does this profile get used?
Media walls and slat or acoustic panelling, under-cabinet runs in dark kitchens, shelf fronts, wardrobe interiors and coving. At 2.45 metres it covers most standard wall panel modules in one piece, and every join you avoid is a place the light line cannot break. Aluminium also pulls heat away from the tape, so strip run inside the channel holds its brightness longer than strip stuck to bare MDF or plasterboard.
Questions buyers ask
How much light does the black cover cost compared with an opal one?
- More than most people expect — a black diffuser is tuned to hide the fitting, not to pass light. Specify a higher-output COB tape than you would behind an opal cover, and treat the result as accent lighting.
What width of LED strip fits?
- Up to 10mm. The internal channel is 10.2mm, which gives a 10mm tape just enough clearance for its adhesive backing. Do not size the strip from the 11.9mm external width.
Can I cut the profile shorter?
- Yes. The aluminium cuts with a fine-tooth blade. Slide the diffuser out and cut it separately — sawing the cover while it sits in the channel is how diffusers crack.
Shorter run? The same channel comes as a 1-metre black 12x10mm profile. Dot-free tape to pair with it sits in COB LED strip.

Returns & Refunds
The 30-day return window applies to non-customised stock items returned in their original, unopened, uncut condition with original packaging. Eligible items include:
- Standard LED strip lights supplied as 5-metre rolls
- Straight aluminium profiles
- Power supplies and drivers
- Accessories (connectors, controllers, dimmers, end caps)
Custom-cut and bespoke orders (made-to-measure strip, custom-spec drivers, custom-length profiles, special-order items) are non-returnable unless faulty.
Faulty products qualify for free returns — we cover the return postage and either replace the item or refund the full cost including original delivery.
Refunds are processed within 5–10 working days of receiving the returned item.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between IP65, IP67, and IP68?
IP65 handles surface splashes only and is not suitable for UK outdoor conditions or bathroom wet zones under BS7671. IP67 is rated for temporary immersion and covers outdoor garden installations, most bathroom zones, and exposed architectural features. IP68 handles continuous submersion for ponds, fountains, and fully exposed outdoor applications. For most UK garden and decking projects, IP67 is the correct choice.
Can I cut this product to a custom length?
Yes. ATOM LED products can be cut at the marked cut points without voiding the warranty. Many competitors restrict cuts to 50–100mm intervals, which wastes offcuts on tight custom runs. Use sharp scissors or a craft knife for a clean cut, then seal the end with a suitable end cap.
What size driver do I need?
Multiply the total metres by the wattage per metre, then add 20% headroom. For example: 10 metres of 24V neon flex at 9W/m = 90W total, so you need a minimum 108W driver. Never load a driver above 80% capacity for long-term reliability.
Should I choose 12V, 24V, or 48V?
Choose 12V for caravans, cars, boats, and any project powered by a 12V battery. Choose 24V for most home and trade installs where you need dependable run length with lower voltage drop. Choose 48V for longer architectural runs where extra distance and single-feed flexibility matter. For underwater or submerged installs, use IP68 Waterproof lights and the correct driver for that product; do not use 48V underwater.
What is your warranty?
ATOM LED offers product-specific warranties: up to 7 years on single-colour COB strip, 5 years on RGB and RGBW COB strip, and 4 years on LED neon flex. The warranty covers manufacturing defects. Call 01952 370028 for warranty claims.
